Antigua’s best beach bars

Back in July, I travelled to Antigua on assignment for Wanderlust magazine.

BA had just started up flights again between Heathrow and the island for the first time in 30 years and a bunch of us were invited along on the inaugural flight.

The resumption of the route is a big deal for Antigua and Barbuda.

A local film crew greeted us as we disembarked. We were taken to a VIP room to meet the Minister of Tourism and listen to speeches by various dignitaries.

The price you pay, as they say.

With the obligatory official stuff out of the way, I was able to get to ‘work’ and start researching a story I’d pitched to Wanderlust – a list of Antigua’s best beach bars.

Now, I know what you’re thinking.

And you’re right,am a jammy bastard.

But I think you’ll also agree I’m doing an important public service.

You go to Antigua, you go to a beach bar.

My list is designed to help you get started.

It’s not an exhaustive list, but it was well researched.

I’ve nominated the seven best beach bars on the island that I visited, but I encourage you to go out and find others.

It’s the Caribbean. What else are you going to do?
