Without wanting to come across as too esoteric, I’ve always considered myself as much a storyteller as a writer.

When my latest book came out, the instore appearances where I got to talk about my travels were always my favourite part of life as a travel author.

Over the years I’ve given talks at literary festivals, at universities and schools and for organisations large and small.

I was also the on-air travel expert for the morning show on Triple J and late evenings on Radio National, both in Australia.

Recently I’ve been presenting seminars for creative writing courses across the UK. Having worked as a writer and a commissioning editor, I can give insights from both sides of the fence.
