I’ve been scratching around my hard drives looking at photos from the early days of my travels.

Like this one I took at Borobudur on a trip through Indonesia in the mid-80s.

I was immediately struck by how ‘Instagrammy’ it looks.

The lone female figure walking off, back turned and mysterious.

The single splash of a strong primary colour.

The miraculous absence of other people at an extremely popular tourist attraction.

You know what?

I’m just gonna put it out there.

I am the godfather of the influencer aesthetic.
