Turn Down Those Shirts

Turn down Those ShirtsIf you ran into Dick and John on the streets of London, chances are they'd be wearing a dark charcoal suit, the uniform of the City in which they work.

But not in Dali, China. Let loose amongst the colourblind tailors of that small traveller's town and they let all their inhibitions run wild.

If this photo ever fell into the hands of their colleagues, I'm sure they'd rather wish they hadn't.

Batik Blues

Batik BluesI've noticed a real reluctance amongst visitors to NSITT to send in pictures of themselves in ridiculous travelling outfits. Either you guys have impeccable dress sense on the road (which, no offence intended, I doubt very much) or you're too embarrassed to show your wardrobe to the world.

In order to get you lot to loosen up a bit, I've decided to post a photo of myself doing things with Batik that were never meant to be done. The photo should have been burned the moment it was processed, but hey, we're amongst friends here. Aren't we?

Bahaman Blunders

Bahaman BlundersAfter my little tirade about batik Michelle Vercio got into the spirit of things and sent in this delightful example of a fashion faux pas on the high seas.

'This is a vacation garb picture that I’m most ashamed of. My best friend and I went on a cruise to the Bahamas (I’m the weird one on the left) Everywhere we went people stared. We clashed with everything. Ugh...I can’t believe I even bought such an outfit !'

At least Michelle knows that she made a fashion blunder.

Swedes As Turnips

Swedes As TurnipsHere are some Swedes looking like a right bunch of turnips, trying to pass themselves of as locals on the Indonesian island of Flores.

'The people in the village of Bongedo put on their traditional clothes to honour our visit,' says Lotta Thelman (far right).'They even let us try them on!'

The good folk of Bongedo are probably still have a right old laugh! Thanks to Lotta for letting all of us have one too.
