Flightless
I’ve got a story in a new Lonely Planet anthology called ‘Flightless: Incredible Journeys without leaving the ground.’ It’s called ‘The Forty Year Old (Vespa) Virgin’ so no prizes for guessing what it’s about. And because it’s the first story in the book you can read most of it using the ‘Search Inside’ feature on both Amazon US and Amazon UK
.
No mention of me on the back cover, but it does point out that other contributors include ‘well-known travel writers Tony Wheeler and Rory Stewart, environmentally responsible travel-bloggers, some favourite Lonely Planet authors and record-setting expeditioners.’ And suggests that you ‘sit back, relax and let your imagination do the flying.’
You can order your (sometimes) heavily discounted copy through the following online booksellers:
Aus/NZ: Fishpond.com.au
UK: Amazon.co.uk
USA: Amazon.com

I should have pointed out that the ‘heavily discounted’ comment didn’t apply to Australia, only Amazon UK and US. (40% and 32% respectively). So yeah, Northern Rock shares represent better value. As do Fannie Mae.

Hey Peter,
Well done on the new book. Or chapter, as it is.
I was put onto an online bookstore that delivers freight free pretty much anywhere in the world.
I paid GPB6.41 (about AUD$15)and had it shipped to Aus for free. It arrived today – 7 days after I ordered.
Not bad!!! Now, the reading begins…
