FAQ
How do I get your job?
It's quite simple really. Get a BA in Medieval History. Spend the rest of your twenties wandering around the world having a good time. Hit 30 and panic that you've been wasting your life. Then expend lots of energy being rejected by every publisher on the planet. Eventually someone will take pity on you.

Any downsides?
Sometimes - usually when I'm putting all my stuff into storage again. I can't believe I've accumulated so much crap.
There are moments on the road when I get a little tired and emotional too. The 60-hour train trip from Khartoum to Wadi Halfa in Sudan on my last trip to Africa, for example, had me wondering what the hell I am doing. But then I get home, see something on the Discovery Channel and I'm all enthused again.
Where's home?
I currently living in London but I was born and bred in Sydney and I've got to say it's the place that feels most like home to me. Most of my family have moved up to Queensland, so I often call in there first after a trip. But it's not until I fly into Kingsford Smith that I know I'm really home.
Where next?
I'm in the pre-planning stages of an old skool Peter Moore adventure through the former Soviet Union.
