Blue skies over Surrey

It’s one of those rare perfectly sunny English days today. The sky is powder blue, there isn’t a cloud in sight and a light mist is stirring where ever the sun hits.

Sounds idyllic. And it is. Only problem is that I live between Heathrow and Gatwick and when it’s clear like this I get to see all the planes crisscrossing the sky above me, leaving their vapour trails as they jet towards some exotic destination.

Not that they’re noisy or anything. By the time they reach me the seat belt sign is off. It’s just that when I see the sleek, pristine silhouette of a jet against an azure sky I start wondering where they are going and my feet start itching. Itching real bad.

Still, better to have itchy feet than another cloudy, grey day.

It has been a lovely day, shame I was stuck inside for most of it – I agree how a plane gets one wondering where & when their next trip is!
