Six pages of infamy in the lastest issue of Scootering

Scootering January 10 issueThose of you who are into scooters will know Scootering. It’s the lovingly restored GS 150 of scooter magazines, the perfect mix of quality articles, gimlet-eyed test rides and sexy double-paged spreads of custom themed scooters.

It seems they have let their impeccably high standards drop in the January 2010 issue though. Up the back, just after the personal column and an ad for low cost scooter insurance, they’ve included a six page interview with me.

The interview was conducted back in September in the beer garden at my local, the Derby Arms. I rambled on a bit. Not because I was drinking but rather because chatting with Andy and Ann was like catching up with old friends. Thankfully there are lots of photos to distract readers from what I am saying.

I’ve got to say, the pictures look great and I’m tempted to book myself on the next flight to Italy to visit my Vespas.

Trouble is, the way Britain is coping with a little pre-Christmas snow, that next flight could be quite a while away.

6 pages? Nice one! Yes, the snow is a bit nuts – all looks great but sends most of the country (especially the deep south) into freefall.

Have a good Christmas and New Year.

    Peter,

Nice article in Scootering. It reminded me that I have your book to read somewhere around the house – Vroom By The Sea (not a big reader but the combination of Italy and Scooters is a big lure for me).
I am dead envious of your latest vespa – the Rally 200 ‘Marcello’. I have a yellow 125 GTR from about the same period (1970) but a 200 would be nice. Too little time – too many scooters to own!
