Who says British immigration officers don’t have a sense of humour?
The lady who stamped me back into the country on Thursday was delighted to see I had one of the new Aussie passports with a different picture on each page. She went straight to page twelve and plonked my entrance stamp right in the middle of it.
‘I always stamp Aussies in on page twelve,’ she said with a grin. ‘Reminds them who won the Ashes.’
As you can see from the picture to the right page twelve is the one that features cricketers.

That’s a level of attention to detail I like to see from the UKBA…
At least when you win the Ashes on home turf you get bragging right for 3 years, when we get a home win we have to go down under the following year and inevitably lose them again!
