I try not to talk too much about my personal life on this blog. I set it up to keep you guys informed about my books and stuff and maybe give a bit of an insight into a writer’s life. I figured that’s what you’d be interested in. Not what I had for breakfast or which character from Star Wars I most resembled.
And when I had a kid, I figured the last thing you wanted to hear about was a blow-by-blow description of her first steps, words, teeth or other things besotted parents regard as ‘milestones.’
Today I’m going to break that rule and tell you that my little girl started school this week.
Two reasons why.
First: I’m absolutely staggered by how fast the past five years have flown by.
Second: I’m about to get a hell of lot more productive.
If you’re waiting for another book that’s good news.
Believe me.
This is where you'll find everything you need to know about me and my books.
You’re not going to break down on us and start sobbing, “My baby’s growing up!” are you?
))
Yes. Yes I am.
And I’m already dreading the teenage years …
Just wait till she brings home the first boyfriend…………
Wow Peter it doesn’t seem that long ago she was born! Has she got a pommy accent then? Does she know what it means when someone’s got “a few roos loose in the top paddock”?
Congratulations mate. I’m sure you’re very very proud.
Simon – you’ve got all this to look forward to!
She’s got a Surrey accent (God forbid!) and supports the Aussies in all sporting endeavours.
Haven’t taught her anything about roos yet. But she knows when she’s ‘full as a goog’ and ‘carrying on like a pork chop.’
Congratulations to Daisy!
And to you, Peter, for the past five years and all the productivity to come!
Crikey! My youngest son (Morgan ) starts school on Monday, so I will be out in garden to take the day 1 school photo. My elder son is now a year 5 so yes, time really does fly.
Is crikey on the horizon ?
Chewbacca?
Are we going to get a double tome? Crikey and Blimey? Because that would be ace.
