The driving dogs of D'artmoor

There’s a reason I’ve been a bit quiet lately. I’ve been travelling out in Cornwall and Devon and the coverage out there is lousy.

Otherwise I would have shared this photo of two dogs driving a car in Princetown, a small village in the middle of Dartmoor National Park, sooner.

Unbelievably, it wasn’t the strangest thing I saw in Princetown that day.

That honour goes to the Daniel O’Donnell salt and pepper shakers in the gift shop the dogs were parked outside of.

Just discovered that Sir Arthur Conan Doyle began The Hound of the Baskervilles in Princetown. Maybe he was inspired by the ancestors of these two dogs.

Daniel O’Donnell salt and pepper shakers: now why didn’t I think of that?

Bizarre! I noticed the exact same cruet set in a tacky shop in Scarborough a couple of weekends back!

There must be quite a market for them.

Surely, surely… the headline should’ve been The Dogs D’artmoor
