The tour around the UK goes on unabated. And as usual I seem to be getting myself into scrapes without really trying. Although I must say that the police officer (and his dog) who picked me up on the perimeter fence at Sellafield was very nice to me once he established I really was trying to find the visitor centre.
A month in and I’ve already learned a few things about the UK that I didn’t know before. Like most of my fans seem to be Blues fans. (Or the ones that invite me into their houses anyway.) And that they credit me with more wit than I deserve.
Like Phil Bowes, for example. (That’s me with him up a mountain in the Lakes District in the picture below.) He congratulated me on the clever title for the new book.
‘Be-a-Limey,’ he said. ‘Very funny.’
I agreed. It was a very funny play on words. Especially as the purpose of the trip was to become a Limey (American slang for the British). But unfortunately it hadn’t crossed my mind. I just liked the word Blimey.
Of course, I shall adopt ‘Be-a-Limey’ as the true meaning of the title now.
Just after I negotiate a reasonable fee with Phil!

This is where you'll find everything you need to know about me and my books.
