Heading off to Gdansk tomorrow for a family holiday. I’m really looking forward to it. I’ve never been to Poland before. And it’s somewhere I’ve always wanted to check out since the days of Lech Walesa and Solidarity.
It’s not the kind of place most people thinking of having a break – especially this time of year. When Sally told the other mothers outside Daisy’s school where we were going they all started panicking and asked if I had some sort of inside information that Gdansk was going to be the next travel hotspot. They’d probably already booked somewhere in Morocco or Mauritius and were worried they have to cancel and find a dockside chalet somewhere down near the port. And encourage their husbands to grown handlebar mustaches.
Sally didn’t have the heart to tell them that it was because we got a (reasonably) cheap flight with Ryanair.
This is where you'll find everything you need to know about me and my books.
