For a week. To live like a student. Between May 29 and June 4.
I’ll be staying in student digs. Attending lectures and tutorials. And at the end of it I have to present a 2,500 word essay to a tutor.
I won’t be swotting all the time. There’ll be bops to attend, pubs to visit and graduation dinners to gatecrash.
There are a few things that current students or any Oxford old boys (or girls) can help me with.
I need some tips on:
1) Writing an essay
2) Where to find a cheap Black Tie outfit
3) How to behave appropriately at bops
4) Anything I must absolutely do to ensure I have an authentic student experience.
On reflection, I’m sure you don’t need to have gone to Oxford to answer those questions.
So everyone feel free to contribute. Either here on the blog, via email or over at the Blimey! Forum here >
This is where you'll find everything you need to know about me and my books.
I have the following tips for writing essays.
1. Smoke a lot of drugs
2. Do not attend lectures
3. Wait until 2AM the night before it is due to be submitted
WTF is a bop? Whatever it is I recommend too much alcohol as a first step.
It has been 10 years since I was a student, I had the greatest time. I echo Uncle Hunty in that you cannot start your essay until a couple of hours before it is due.
How hard can essay writing be? what is the essay going to be about?
