Psst! Wanna buy a Vespa?

According to an article on the Sydney Morning Herald online 31 Vespas were stolen in Sydney last year giving them the highest rate of theft per 1000 registered vehicles by manufacturer.

The report by the National Motor Vehicle Theft Reduction Council also noted that Newtown and Glebe are the most likliest places a Vespa will get nicked – the two suburbs I lived in as a Vespa owner and where I’ll be staying when I’m back in Sydney next week.

I better make sure the insurance on my Aussie Vespa (a white PX) is up-to-date.

Makes me glad my Vespa is safely locked in a garage overnight in Newtown.

p.s. Am hanging to read the new book – haven’t bought it yet as I’m saving it to take away with me to Vietnam next month. I know if I buy it now I’ll cave in and read it one weekend!!

    Thanks Di.

And Yublocka, if you go to Ho Chi Minh City make sure you drop in on Steve at Zoom Cafe. It’s a Vespa-themed place at 169A De Tham Street, Pham Ngu Lao Ward, District 1 (the main backpacker area.) Hopefully he’ll have some of his restorations out front brightening the place up.
