Sneak preview of cover for Vroom By The Sea

The manuscript for Vroom by the Sea, my sequel to Vroom with a View, is in getting edited. The plan is that it’ll be published in Australia in November.

This morning my editor sent me a PDF of the cover. It’ll probably get tweeked a bit between now and the end of the year, but this is what the sales reps have got to push under the noses of booksellers to convince them to order lots of copies of my book for Christmas.

It’s all starting to get real again.

Really looking forward to reading this one Peter. Read the first vroom and went to Tuscany to check out the places mentioned in the book! Any idea when it will come out in the UK. Could be one for my Christmas list…..

So they modeled the guy on the cover after you right? Big manly chest, flowing dark locks, effortless sideburns…
    :)

Great! Another 6 or 7 weeks & I can nip down the Margaret River and pick myself up a decorative mosaic of the new one!

That’s right! And just like the Queen, I stormed out of the sitting when the guy asked me to remove the gold medallion nestled in the chest hair.

Looks great! Looking forward to seeing it in the UK. Best wishes for the Aussie launch.

  6. Pete B July 13, 2007 at 10:54 am #

Cant wait for it to come out. What is the latest with Crikey Peter? Has it fallen by the wayside?

  7. Merrill July 13, 2007 at 12:59 pm #

So Peter, will there be any way we can buy a copy from your Australian publisher and have it shipped to the U.S.? I don’t want to have to wait another year until its published here.

Any word on when a U.S. edition might be available?

I have just finished vroom with a view today, after taking my time with the last chapter as I didn’t want the book to end. Cheered up no end to discover you have written a sequel! It’s at the top of my new book list.
    Craig Murray.
    P.S. What happened to Sophia?

Looking forward to your new book. this time on a Rally 200.

By the way, Sophia was an inspiration for a new paint job on my ’59 VBA (pictured on your blog-then turquoise). It’s now light tan with dual saddles.

See you at a rally sometime. Keep on scooting!

Vroom with a View was great reading Peter. I was given it for my 60th birthday….only a few months after I bought my PX on Ebay. Finished the book yesterday in Melbourne and spent the rest of the day walking the city streets snapping pics of ….you guessed it…Vespas. I have to get one of the first copies of Vroom by the Sea. Keep them coming!

I’m looking forward to the Dutch version. Althoug I can read and understand English I prefer the dutch version (it’s easyer to read).

I finished Wrong Way Home this morning – took me ages to find a copy.

I got so excited by your mention of the Big Pavolva at Marulan… One of the 3 “big” things I passed as a kid on the way to Canberra from Wollongong – no-one I’ve ever mentioned it to believed me that it was really there! Thank you, Peter… I feel vindicated!

I second Pete B’s question – what happened to Crikey?

(Not that I’m not looking forward to this!)

I saw Vroom2 on sale today, at Borders Canberra Centre!!!

(Actually, my boyfriend saw it and called out, “Honey, this isn’t the one you have, is it?” Then he bought it for me… and put it away for Christmas!)
