My Past Life

I visited a web site this morning to see what I was in a past life. Not that I’m unhappy with my current life. I was just interested to see if I had been an Egyptian princess like everyone else.

Turns out I was a philosopher and thinker in south-west USA around 1775. (Just to put that into perspective, some people consider George Bush a philosopher and thinker from south-west USA.)

Apparently I was considered quite strange at the time – again, think George Bush. And it’s only in this life that my ‘creative talents’ were ‘liberated.’

Finally, my task in this life is to ‘make the world a more beautiful place.’

Thus ends the spooky George Bush analogy.

At the risk of sounding like some nut case, the Past Life reading actually was very close to one I had from a ‘karmic astrologer’ years ago. Since everything else he told me was spot on, I have to assume his past life analysis was as well. Now this site confirms it!

Oh, & Peter: just wanted to tell you how much I’m enjoying your books even tho they’re VERY hard to find here in CO. I stumbled across ‘Vroom with a View’ while I was looking for Italian guidebooks, & enjoyed it so much that I had my local library order me copies of ‘Swahili’ & ‘Montezuma’ (which I just started). Unfortunately, they can’t find your 2 earlier books. Anyway, looking forward to future travels with you!

Ummm, I was a man which explains my irritation with housework perhaps, or is that sexist if I write that? Previously I had presumed I had either been a Roman soldier or a princess … someone who didn’t mess around with dishes, ironing and hanging out washing.

So yeah, they wrote … ‘I don’t know how you feel about it, but you were male in your last earthly incarnation. You were born somewhere in the territory of modern Central Africa around the year 1225. Your profession was that of a designer, engineer or craftsman.’

Mate, I have just checked the website you posted. And this is what I got as analysis
I don’t know how you feel about it, but you were female in your last earthly incarnation. You were born somewhere in the territory of modern Central India around the year 1275. Your profession was that of a preacher, publisher or writer of ancient inscriptions.
Your brief psychological profile in your past life:
Timid, constrained, quiet person. You had creative talents, which waited until this life to be liberated. Sometimes your environment considered you strange.
The lesson that your last past life brought to your present incarnation:
Your main task is to make the world more beautiful. Physical and spiritual deserts are just waiting for your touch. Keep smiling!

    Sounds familiar?

When I research these things, I like to go the whole hog and find a psychic who speaks to dead people. (There are plenty of them here in Montreal.) It comes to me, on great authority, that I was a Ukrainian horseman (though in those days it wan’t Ukraine, it was in the region of modern-day Slovakia/Hungary), and that I probably died in one of Stalin’s purges.

This poses all sorts of passport problems and sporting qualification wrangles.

Isn’t it amazing how in most of the cases where people claim to be a reincarnation, they were always someone famous or mythical, like Guinivere?

I just checked with that website to see if it would agree with the psychic’s comments, but surprisingly, no.

It says I was a female bard, director and dramatist from south-central USA in the year 700, which is quite extraordinary, really, when you consider it was nearly 800 years before Columbus reached Puerto Rico. Examining my psychological profile, the site wreckons I was also ‘a detective or spy’. There’s a real niche in the job market there.
