You may have read the story in the papers lately about the Qantas flight attendant, Lisa Robertson, who sh#gged Ralph Fiennes in the toilet on a flight to India. (Insert your own E.M. Forster jokes here).
Personally, I thought it was made up. In all my travels I have found Qantas flight attendants to be the grumpiest, unfriendliest and rudest in the business. It’s hard enough getting your allocated meal from them let alone any kind of dessert.
Having said that, I’m not an international movie star. And I’ve never flown 1st class. Maybe they do things differently down the pointy end of the plane.
Still, I was amused to see this ad for Qantas on the Guardian website today boasting of its ‘dedicated cabin crew in First and Business.’
Timing, as they say, is everything.
They might want to change the bit about the enviable safety record though. According to the Daily Mail the clinch between Mr Fiennes and Ms Robinson was “passionate and apparently unprotected.”

I’ve read a few reports of this, and it looks fair dinkum. Well done Mr Fiennes, I say – and I love the irony of having unprotected sex on the way to India to campaign against unprotected sex!
