From The Blog

Dipping my toes in the murky waters of e-commerce

In April this year my web site celebrated its eleventh birthday. It started out as a little 1MB baby attached to my dial-up account, morphed into the online prototype for the book No Shitting in the Toilet and then, after I began to make a living out of this writing caper, grew up to become my official author site.

Over that time I supported and nurtured my web site myself. Now, as it enters its adolescence, I’ve decided it’s time my web site started earning its way. Nothing too heavy to start with – just the odd e-book and hard-to-get signed book. Kind of like the online version of a paper round.

The site will still be ad-free and full of extras and freebies. The last thing I want it to become is an online shopping mall. But when I come across something I think you guys might be interested in I’m gonna stick it up and see what happens.

For the moment that’s an e-book version of my story Same Same But Different. And a limited number of copies of the trade paperback version of Vroom with a View.

The copy of TP Vroom will be individually numbered and signed with a personal message. The first 25 sold will also come with a free Kinder Surprise Toy that was garnered in my quest for the elusive green Vespa.

It sounds good, I know. But the truth of the matter is that Sally told me that if I didn’t get rid of them she would!

Hey thanks for the pdf version of Same Same But Different. Gert was most agreeable about me using his credit card to make a .49 cent book purchase ;)

I don’t imagine you’ll have much trouble moving the Vroom with a View books. I did enjoy it and wrote it up on my site.

Good luck with all the bits and pieces that are in process.

Looking forward to reading it on the bus this evening, even printed it out in booklet format for the authentic reading experience!
