Every day of the working week, The Sun newspaper runs a picture of a topless girl on page three. Under the banner ‘News in Briefs’ the young lasses give their opinion on the big news story of the day. It is a testament to how highly regarded Steve Irwin is in these parts that today’s girl, Katie, 21, from Liverpool, chose to comment on his untimely passing.
‘I was gutted to hear about Steve Irwin’s tragic death,’ she said. ‘He was loved by millions and brought amazing wildlife into people’s living rooms. His bravery and great sense of humour will be sorely missed.’
Even though I’ve got a few years on Katie and come from Sydney, I couldn’t have put it better myself.
This is where you'll find everything you need to know about me and my books.
Those page 3 girls are so smart (!)
Mick (contender for a page seven fella!)
Is this Katie’s blog? No. Where is the topless photo of Peter eulogizing Steve Irwin?
Bonza!
this is a pleasant diversion from all the hysterics and villifying commentary here in Aussie, i can’t believe the poms have a better grip on the situation than our media!!! Steve was fantastic, highly amusing and widely respected, but Australia Zoo on the Sunshine Coast is now $40 to get into… $120 family pass… crikey!
God love Mr. Irwin’s family, but what in hell has all this press coverage and national angst been about? He was no statesman, scientist, philosopher, doctor or president. He was a guy who loved animals. I hope many of us do, but none deserve a grieving like that of a head of state.
