Screaming girls in Denver

When I rode into the car park in front of the studios of KEZW I was greeted by a couple of hundred screaming girls in the car park and a phalanx of cops holding them back. I knew that the event at Erico Motorsports had gone really well but I hadn’t expected the word to get out that fast.

It turns out the girls were waiting for Ace Young, the guy who came 8th on the last series of American Idol. He’s not a bad looking chap and apparently grew up in Colorado. I was ushered past the crowd and into the studio where I enjoyed a very laidback and not at all hysterical interview with Rick Crandall.

Afterwards I rode up into the mountains on a lime green Vespa that the people at Erico had given me to use during my stay. It had goblins painted on the side and I whiled away the day pulling up at lights besides guys riding Harleys and engaging them in chit-chat.

It is a testament to the good nature of the folk of Denver that most of them were civil to me.

Strange I thought Harley riders were not capable of chit-chat, normally they are too busy trying to look cool and hard. They are also worrying that something is about to vibrate off their bike (that’s usually an improvement as once enough stuff falls off it means they will go a bit faster).

P.S. I Ride an Aprilia Tuono (not a Vespa, and not a scooter, but at least it’s Italian!
