Now Drew Barrymore wants to be a travel writer

I think someone must have got Drew Barrymore the Lonely Planet Guide to Travel Writing for Christmas because now she wants to become a travel writer too. I mean, why sign up for the hassle of Charlie’s Angels III (Fuller Throttle) when you can pull in the kind of dollars Don George says is on offer?

Drew told Britain’s B Magazine that she would love to be ‘sent places and experience the world, people and cultures, and get smarter by getting outside my own environment.’

You can read an excerpt of the article on Teen Today, the UK’s best teen site, probably. (If you’re wondering what I was doing on a website aimed at teenage girls my only defence is that a reader sent me the link.)

If you do visit the site, make sure you try out the background changer in the bottom left corner under the navigation bar. I like the blue checks best.

It must’ve been “The Chad” that drove her to it.

Completely unrelated, Peter – it is 10.10pm on Sunday here in Oz and “Nowhere In Africa” is being shown on SBS. I haven’t spotted you yet!!

Also, I think I saw you outside Jubilee Oval before a Saints game a few years ago. I pointed you out to my girlfriend but didn’t have the guts to approach you.

    Hi Ben,

Yeah, The Chad. I think The Chad would make me want to ‘get smarter’ too.

Re: Nowhere in Africa. Check out the blog entry above this one.

Re: Jubilee Oval. Was it a Dragons/Raiders match in 2003? That’s the only time I’ve been there in the past couple of years. I think we lost, too. By one point if I remember rightly.
