It’s funny the things that make you homesick. I’ve been living in London for just over a year now and only just got that funny yearning feeling last week – watching the Koala Brothers, of all things!
I stumbled across the show as I was flicking through the channels (yep, procrastinating again) and was immediately taken by the bright colours and funny accents. It’s about two koalas, Frank and Buster, who fly around the outback in a yellow plane helping people. The most amazing thing about the show is that they got that particularly Australian light right.
(On a slightly unrelated note, Sammy, above, is an echidna and runs the local store. Sally says he reminds her of Queenslanders but won’t explain why. Perhaps it’s the way he wears his pants high.)
The good news on the homesick front is that I’ll be back in Australia for a quick visit at the end of the month. As they say on the Koala Brothers, help is on its way.
This is where you'll find everything you need to know about me and my books.
